# How do you construct flooring?

I’m regretting tearing down these walls since it appears that I can’t build new floors; is this just how it is or can you actually construct floors?

You can open the construction menu with the \* key, number 8 while shifting.
You will specifically be looking for the wooden flooring option.
You can also search the construction menu, to do so I believe you press the f key

A lot of the construction recipes for building floors are actually listed as building a roof, because the floor is kind of implicit, or because the floor is a step in a multi-step process towards building a floor. It’s kind of a weird game-logic sort of thing. Try searching the construction recipes for both floor and roof and see what comes up.
