# How did you last die?

^ Yea WAAAAAY Down. I find that if I don’t I end up surrounded by NPC’s on the map just outside my reality bubble that always want to run towards me if my reality bubble lets them. I tend to turn it down to 10% of default at the VERY least. usually even more so that starting character has a chance to get started and getting strong enough to make it without being mugged to death by some random bandit NPC on day 1 or 2

I build and cargo improvised cargo bike, and I run from the city running from the hordes.
Find a gas station in the middle of nowhere with some vehicles, and a complete functional electric vehicle, i Sit there for some days and begin to work in a mobile base.
Then after a time, some NPcs like 5+ begin to stay surrounding my “base”, and they begin to goes close to my trying to attack me or asking my for quests. The last one tell me for killing a Jabberwock… dude… when that monster was even mentionen in my years of playing AD&D, we just run from the place for 3 days without sleeping. And here I managed to kill it with my pneumatic weapon.

I started in the shelter. I tore down the curtains on this window. The wall disappeared. I couldn’t handle the implications. I put a gun in my mouth, and ended it.

I lit a small fire in a mansion by the pool and the building collapsed on me. I didn’t realize mansions were flammable and I had just sorted all my stuff and whatnot. QQ

When building a fire indoors, next time build a brazier Feb from the crafting menu and 'A’ctivateit to place it like afunnel. Then toss on your fuel abs light it. It will still smoke, but it won’t ahead spread and burn down your building.

Dude… Everything is flammable. Don’t even try to start a fire unless it’s outside or in a fire container lol

fixed that for you.
burned down one of my places because I put like 5 sticks or so on it in an attempt to make it last longer. The fire spread one tile to far and it was all over.

For sure a bug, evac shelters are the worst things for survivor´s security. They are very flammable.

I was doing great. Had great guns, melee, armor etc. Was not careful. I got surrounded by lIke 8 zds. 2 grabbers. They grabbed me and then it went down hill. I was surpriced. I usually die from Hulks not the easy zds.
Zds grabbing is a nice addition. I love perma death, makes the stakes much higher. Awesome game.

If the fire is kept small, it is very unlikely to spread.
You can burn broken benches just fine, as long as you don’t cause the fire to spread to the unbroken ones or grow into a medium fire (which can collapse the building).
Stairs should be even safer than the floor.

I (finally) noticed in the bandit camps that their campfire tile is surrounded by 8 rocks, one in each adjacent tile. Does that arrangement prevent fire from spreading?

It’s a crazy urban legend that may or may not have been a functional bug a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away.

Doing OK, I have a standard car loaded up with goodies, full battery, lots of gas. Pull up to a science lab. As I’m not that awesome for combat I figure I’ll just go loot what I can and carry on. On what turned out to be my last armful out to the car, I’m throwing things in the trunk, and spot a moose. 20 tiles away and hostile.
‘Ahhhh, shit.’
I make a mad dash for the steering wheel but the moose charges into the passenger seat. I can’t run away. I’m stuck in this car with this goddamn moose and it thrashes around and tramples me.
Probably my best game yet and dying to such random wildlife behaviour. Wolf running me down and savaging me, I can understand. Cougar leaping me to death? Sure. Moose in the car? Damn.

So apparently I haven’t played in a long enough time to not notice ‘Survivor Houses’ are a thing now. Nicely reinforced windows and whatnot, had a smoker (pain to kill in the garage) and a survivor zed in the bedroom.
No one told me the crazy bastard put presents in front of the door…i liked that character \>.\>
