# Handgun skill not improving

Linux Mint
My handgun and marksman skills are not improving at all when firing pistols. Tried with glock 19 and M1911.
If I fire a shotgun, the shotgun and marksman skill improve.

iirc there was something about handgun skill gains being limited depending on the type of handgun you are using. Some are to ‘easy’ to use or something. Which handgun are you using and what is your skill?

i have seen the same bug,all modded pistols dont level up the handgun skill and normal vanilla ones dont really seem to be leveling it up.

Are the pistols you’re using accurate ones? I recall there being some kind of cap on levelling up unless your weapon is more accurate at higher levels.

Yeah use low accuracy ones to train the low levels, and high accuracy ones for the high levels.
