# Fixing vehicles with welder/acetorch doesn't seem to progress welding proficiency

Subj. Dozens of vehicle parts repaired, and I’m still at 10%. Intended? Am I missing something? Or a bug?

Proficiencies play no role in vehicle work. They neither apply penalties nor are practiced from it.

The question is… should they? As someone with no experience in welding in real life, I would assume that welding on vehicles in any way would teach you at least some basic things about welding…
