# Draw Your Cataclysms

so who is going to go through all 1500 of these posts and catalogue all of the excellent artwork?  
any ideas on how that might be accomplished?  
getting tired of sifting through the pages for my favorites

Well this has already lasted enough.

Lets get back to drawings:

Relevant piece of plot information:  
Thats the queen of the Ferleon (my Original fantasy race do not STEAL!!!1111eleven1!), they like wearing creepy masks and more robes than Tusken Raiders. But I’m pretty sure you’ll also do that if you were burned to death by sunlight (well actually they are burned to death by most light sources). Also they have a Japanese/Indian/Persian culture and tend to be complete assholes to everyone else, and they make damn nice boats. And if I find a way to make it not cliche, most of them seek to bring the end of all things, because of reasons related to the creation myth of the world.

So they are essentially a more down to earth version of the Drows without all the fan service, and without the stupid murder culture, and they have pale skin and dont have pointy ears, so actually they are fairly different from Drows, but story wise they play the same role.

I kinda wonder If anyone reads this things. Also I love world building, its super fun.

Apocalyptic cults are, like, so played out; and frankly, it’s something we have to deal with in the real world, so maybe steer away from that?

Also, hyper-futurists/eternalists is also kind of passé; so I think you need an orthogonal approach:

Instead of them desiring the end of all things; or for all things to last forever; how about something at a right angle to reality?

If they are [b]all about[b] boats, then ostensibly they revere the ocean, so that’s a starting point: They want to sink the world, but not to destroy it; but to have all beings embrace the ocean like they do; and they will not be dissuaded from this goal, come hell or high water (pun most certainly intended).

Yeah, the concept of bringing the end the of the world is very much so played out. Plus its always hard to take seriously a race that consist of a bunch of omnicidal maniacs.

This is what I have now:

I originally justified it by the fact that the creation myth of the world involves the creator god being destroyed by its angels when she intended to redo creation. Truth is however, that killing a god has several repercussions, and while reality continues to exist and will surely continue to do that for a long time, several aspects of it are slowly degrading away or have already completely degraded without the protection of the main god. (the natural end of reality is not a part of the plot, but the flawed desire of attempting to return the world to its golden age is). The Ferleon are technically immortal, and have seen the the marvels of the earlyworld, which is to say, that they are really obsessed with them and hate everything about reality now.

They seek to end creation as they believe that that will re trigger the original event from which the creator god arose. So they seek to end you and everything, but they are only doing that for your own good.

That said I think I’ll dig into Taoism, Hinduism and Buddhism and see if I can come with something more original. And tied to the sea probably.

Better sources may be religious traditions more closely tied to the sea; such as Norse Mythology, Shintoism, Maori traditions, Polynesian traditions and Hawaiian mythology.

Good Idea. Will probably start with Shintoism Hawaiian and Polynesian traditions. They will probably still keep a lot of Hindu and Persian influence though. Or perhaps they wont who knows? Thats the fun of world building.

Fighting Jabberwocks is really the best thing in Cata, we really need more monsters like that. Ohh Ill really do anything to get Acidia back into developing this game.

although these days i smoke a lot more weed and i have a technical drawing class and 5 years of drawing for calculus and physics under my belt now too  
shit who am i kidding, like i have something better to do, it’s spring break anyway
