I once used a throw away character that I got extremely high on coke with, collected a large pile of LAWs, and killed EVERYTHING

The HOOOOOOOOOOONK makes it. Nice. That said, if the random thug actually knew how to brace the pike, xe could probably do some damage to the semi, but would probably still get killed in the bargain.

Yeah, a semi isn’t a horse. The most he could do, even if he was a trained pikeman, would be to pop a tire. But either way there’s still x-amount of tons of semi coming his direction.

Isn’t it weird, that a fingertip sized piece of lead is a bigger threat nowadays, than huge pieces of iron and steel, that people used to win wars with?

We’ve also got even BIGGER pieces of steel that are an even BIGGER threat though, so I think we’re good.
And arrowheads, traditionally one of the most dangerous items in the world, were pretty much fingertip sized bits of lead (well, not lead exactly, but something like it).

Too much work this week, but Canada day is free.
If I don’t wind up with plans to leave my house and watch huge tax-funded explosions, I’ll be at home, probably drunk, and within plausible arting distance of my tablet laptop.
No promises, I don’t trust drunk me to get what I expect done. He’s a good worker, he just likes to be a bit of a dick and pick the right priorities instead of the funnest ones first.

Except if that someone is holding even just a tiny-little .22… And I can’t see most people even lifting a sword, not to mention using it proficiently.

Unless you’re facing someone who holds talent with a sword as well, I don’t see driving a piece of steel into a the average man’s flesh needing too much skill or finesse.

Fun fact, police and military personnel are actually taught that, in a closed room or at close range, a knife is a larger threat than a firearm. You don’t have to draw or aim (much) a CQC weapon.
Also, most swords, including claymores, don’t weigh more than 5 to 7lbs MAX. They are rather easy to swing around if you have any experience to speak of. Now, using it proficiently… well, that’d only really come into play if it came down to a melee battle. You don’t really need to know what you are doing to hack away at someone.
