# Computer Console lockout duration

Sometimes when I fail a computer check on a lab console, it tells me that “Access is temporarily blocked for security purposes”. How long does this lockout last?

Varies some times 5 minutes to hours. From what I can tell it rolls for the negative fail attack like shocking or an alarm or the lock out and if I am right in my observations it also rolls for severity.
