# Can someone tell me how to charge a generator battery, I have a universal charging station but it won't let me charge it

What do you mean by “generator battery” - Its not a base game part, and I’ve not seen it in any mod drops or crafting that I can remember. What version and which mods are you playing with?

To cover the basics, is the universal charging station is connected to a power source, grid or vehicle based? Does the power source actually have any power to send to the charger? Is the charger turned on? Are there other chargeables in the charger that might be charging first? And does the ‘Generator Battery’ describe itself as rechargeable? Not all batteries can be recharged, the ones that can’t usually say so in the description.
