# Apply the "Fire" function on Bullwhips, to other large weapons

Like the bicycle chain, those huge swords for cutting swords in half, many kinds of spears, I could think of a whole slew of weapons that functionality would make sense on.

There’s entire reach weapon PR that works much better than bullwhip’s ranged pseudo-melee: [https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/pull/11665](https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/pull/11665)

Note the low issue number on the request: [https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/issues/4903](https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/issues/4903)  
It means it’s a quite old request.

Not sure if it’s just waiting for testing or if there is any objection to it getting merged.

Yeah that seems pretty awesome, interested in seeing that merged eventually.
